Food grade powder coating

Q. Hi,

I am producing bins to collect used cooking oil which is later used as a component of animal feed industry.

What should I look for when selecting the proper powder coating for the bin?

Thanks for your help

I think that if the container was ultimately to contain a substance for human consumption then FDA approved powders would be required? However, containing substances for animal consumption would not? Your powder supplier should be able to advise you on this -- I think for adhesion and resistance to any aggressive substances placed in the bins I would specify an epoxy based powder. As we are UK based, you may know different?
