Copper undercoating before nickel plating
We have a plugin terminal made of CRCA and nickel plating on it. My question is, is it necessary to undercoat CRCA with copper before Nickel plating? Can you suggest the thickness of both copper & nickel?

Hi, Manibabu.
Generally, copper plating is not required before nickel plating. I don't know quite what a "plugin terminal" means to you, and what its requirements are, but most electrical contact terminals are electroless nickel plated for its corrosion resistance, good conductivity, and wear resistance.

A. Dear Sir,
Copper Plating is done to save nickel cost & nothing else also it gives nickel plating a better gloss & sparkling finish since the uneven surfaces are already covered.
