Black Oxide Replacement
I am trying to find a replacement for Black Oxide. Any suggestions ? The material is A36 that is machined on all 4 sides. Minimal build up would be acceptable as long it is uniform. Coloring must remain black.

Im not real familiar with "A36" , I assume its a steel , like a-2 and a-6. you might try the new 195 black that's out , I'm sure the suppliers would process some sample parts for you. Also , you don't state what purpose the black currently serves , decorative? you could consider a black chromate over zinc...,
