Burnt kitchen counter plastic laminate





Hi, my name is Adele and I am renting a room in New York. I've made a big mistake! I was making myself dinner and I put the very hot pan on the plastic laminate that recover the kitchen counter. Now it's burnt and I promise my roommate that I will take care of this and replace it. I am French, English is not my first language so I have problems to research how to do for replace it, and where to buy the materials I need. I am an 18 years old students new in the city with no family no friends, I am kind of lost now ! PLEASE help me ! I am not even sure this material is called laminate, but it is plastic for sure. There is a picture, so you can help me better.
