How do you remove iron and chrome from a Wood's Nickel tank ?
We plate Wood's Nickel + Nickel Sulfamate on various iron/nickel alloys, stainless steels copper and other metals. We use copper wire as a racking wire. The Wood's bath is dummied to remove the copper. We are getting dark/fuzzy wires instead of smooth nickel colored wires out of the Wood's bath. I am going to have the bath analyzed for iron and chrome.
Any suggestions on removing iron and chrome from the Wood's bath ?

Couple of suggestions:
Keep those Noble metals out by going into the woods live (with current)
Nickel plate the Cu wire prior to activation to keep it out of your prep line or activators or use a nickel alloy wire instead of the Cu.
LCD Dummies with a corrugated panel 8 - 10" or so @ 3 - 4 amps or .5 ASF this should remove the other unwanted metals (depending on tank size).
ASF of woods is 20 - 100 ASF and remember that's a lot of current going through your wire so burning is a common occurrence given the low metal.
If you currently use these techniques then it's hard to say without your analysis.
P.S If this is the only issue that your seeing then that's not bad considering the latter.
