Black Zinc-Iron plated decorative steel parts

I've read that a Zinc-Iron plated parts will not have a consistent look and may not be a be a good choice for semi-decorative furniture parts. We've been black Zinc plating parts in the past but have had some issues with some part lots tending to discolor with UV. Will zinc-Iron have the same appearance as black zinc? What are the reasons some Black Zinc lots don't discolor as fast as others? I imagine it has to do with the silver content.

Hello,

Zinc Iron will not discolor as quickly as Zinc Black does; but it will get duller over time.
A duplex coating over The Zinc Iron that has acrylic in it instead of an epoxy-polymer will increase the durability of the Zinc Iron. This is applied by most platers if you look around.
