Keeping pennies in yard art shiny
We have a piece of garden art art covered with pennies of years from 1970 through present. These pennies all have a different copper content (the later ones probably zero copper). Is there a coating that can be easily applied to keep them shiny?

Hi, Frank.
There are no magic bullets, but there are all kinds of effective clear coats, from simple one-coat products like Everbrite [a finishing.com supporting advertiser], through brass lacquers, to two-pack automotive clearcoats. For future artwork, though, use only pre-1982 pennies as the newer zinc-core pennies have much lower inherent corrosion resistance. Good luck.
