How to paint trivalent chromium finish
August 31, 2011
I've looked around on this site and on the Internet for instructions on how to paint a trivalent chromium finished part, but can only find instructions on painting galvanized parts.
Specifically, I want to paint a GoldGalv finished product from Thomas & Betts Superstrut product line. T&B documentations says the trivalent chromium finish is a "superior paint base", but they don't provide instructions on how to prep and recommendations on types of paints to use.
I will also contact T&B, but I am doubtful of the response time, and besides, I wanted some unbiased opinions from the forum.
