Making a good Zinc Strike
I am an intern at a metal finishing company in Dayton, Ohio, and I am looking into making a good Zinc Strike. Right now I have one made up but I am not sure what concentrations of zinc should go into it, or what voltage or amperage to run it at. I am currently running sample pieces at 12 g/L and I have gone as low as 6 g/L but the bath is not striking evenly. I have also run from 5 ASF to 75 ASF, but have had no success. If anyone has ever heard of doing this and knows of a good way to go about making one I would greatly appreciate any suggestions you might have.
