Check for sandblasting effectiveness

If the purpose of sandblasting is to make the surface of a component rough, is there a test available to check if the required roughness has been achieved?

(In our copper rod plant, we sandblast rolls of forged steel. The rough rolls are helpful in removing oxides present in the surface of the cast bar)
