Low cost, corrosion resistant alternative to Kovar

June 3, 2011

Hi,

I am using Kovar disc in application of Pressure Transducer, the application is not associated with any electrical connection i.e its typically in the form of mechanical application. When we did the fluid susceptibility of Kovar disc our results are showing that it is highly susceptible to corrosion.
So I have two questions.

1)I want to know is there any low cost alternatives for Kovar available with high corrosion resistance.

2)Secondly, If alternates are not present, is there any plating material which could be used instead of gold plating. As gold plating is very costly. We want to go for a low cost solution for this.

Thanks for you reply in advance.
