Specs vs. dry paint shade variation

Hi all,
Our valves were required to have carboline 134 paint (paint shade RAL5017).The paint comes in a package of part A & B which is to be mixed in a ratio of 7:1. We did all the needful as mentioned in the procedure but the final paint shade was found to be a bit light and was confirming to RAL 5015 instead of RAL 5017.
We use a conventional air spray gun for the application of paint.

Our observation was that the paint prepared after mixing was almost confirming to RAL 5017 but the change in shade was only apparent after application of it through our spray gun.
Can any one tell me why this happens and help me find a solution.
