Is powder coating or paint best for Acoustic Enclosure for Diesel Generator?

We are facing problem in our product of removing powder coat layer due to rusting. We had manufactured these products in winter. And manufacturing facility & paint jobshop are about 300 km away. Suggest the solution and reason.

Hi, Toshal.

Although powder coating is generally more corrosion resistant than paint, because it tends to be thicker, I seriously doubt that the problem is the quality of the powder.

You need a proper coating system, i.e., proper mechanical preparation of the metal, proper cleaning, proper phosphatization, proper rinsing, and proper electropaint priming before the powder coating, as well as capable powder coating. Unfortunately there are 101 things that can be left undone, or done in poor fashion, and no one is going to be able to suggest which of those 101 potential problems is/are the actual problems based solely on the fact that the metal, of course, rusted.

Please begin by discussing the coating sequence in detail and we'll see if we can spot any obvious issues. Thanks!
