Granite rust finish on cast aluminum outdoor furniture
May 7, 2011
I have a set of cast aluminum furniture that had a 'granite rust" finish that has been sun bleached. How can I refinish the furniture by myself and attain what looks like a two step finish?
Here is a side by side photo of two chairs. One set of table and chairs was outside for 9 years the other on the screened porch.

I have an identical table and chairs, and I'm 99% certain they are powder coated with a special textured material. Only the original manufacturer will be able to exactly duplicate the finish. A good auto paint shop might get reasonably close, and can give you a finish which will last many years.
Sorry, but this is not a home project.
