Anodized Aluminum Planks supported by Steel Supports
An architect has detailed an anodized aluminum service plank to be supported on steel channel supports in an attic of a famous building. There may be a possibility of humidity that can be present in this space. Does there need to be any additional coating or neoprene pad separation between the two dissimilar materials to prevent corrosion, or is the anodized aluminum sufficient? If required, what is an inexpensive way to prevent corrosion? We are suggesting bituminous paint on either the steel or aluminum surfaces.

I have a similar situation. I have aluminum 2 x 6 tube outriggers penetrating a metal skin wall. The outriggers are attached to structural tube steel 8 x 8 and inside the wall cavity of the building with zinc coated bolts. What's the best method for separating the materials or do they have to be separated since the connection is inside the wall and not exposed to the elements.
Thanks!
