Hi, Sven.
Unfortunately, there are no formulaic answers to abstract questions, but you've already hinted at one way to reduce the conductivity: get the salt out. Good luck.

The good lord created the sun.
The sun evaporates the seas and rains down upon us fresher waters.
Basically every drop of water on the planet has been recycled and purified countless times.
You can distill the water with very primitive equipment and achieve an improvement.
You can deionise the water with sophisticated DI & or RO equipment and yield zero micro siemens conductivity.
Basically, it amounts to how pure do you require the water and how much Capital are you prepared to invest to achieve that purity?
Hope this helps.

Try distillation, reverse osmosis, ion exchange or ultrafiltration - it all depends on your budget and the volumes to process.

For small quantities of purified water, you can buy a disposable cartridge of mixed bed ion exchange resin with an indicator dye that shows when it is exhausted.
