Small Diameter Copper Tube Cleaning
I'm having problems cleaning a copper tube. The tube is 20mm long, external diameter 3mm, internal diameter 0.5mm. The tube is brazed to a stainless steel container 50mm diameter, 3mm high. The container is filled with liquid butane through the tube. The tube is crimped but this does not give a gas tight seal. We could improve the crimp if oxidation inside the tube could be removed.
How can we guarantee that any etch or bright dip process will penetrate the full length of the tube ? Is there another process which would be better ? The components are processed in batches of
1600. weekly volume is 32,000.

Kevin - Try using a peroxide based deoxidizer. Do this before the crimping. This type of cleaning will be less aggressive than a nitric dip and will give great results. Good luck.
