Electro-Plating of Holograms

I am interested in exactly what part electro-plating plays in the production of holograms. I will appreciate any assistance anyone can give me. Thank you. Marty Roscoe (Ms) Tanury Industries Lincoln, RI

The plates for embossing the holograms in the plastic foil are made by electroforming. There are several steps making such a plate:

1. Laser exposement of Glassplate coverde with resist

2. Forming a conductive layer on the resist

3. 1st electroforming step

4. Use the first electroforming foil as an master and make copies ( like in the CD-Business)

Hope this information helps you best regards Marcus
