Repairing Chromed Plastic Jukebox Parts

Hello. I'm Don Spence from VA Beach, VA. I'm restoring my first Seeburg Jukebox. The clear plastic medallion on the record mechanism features a chrome border that had the chrome applied from the rear. Manufactured in 1954, the chrome border has crazed, chipped and flaked on about 30% of the border.

I'm looking for advice on what product to use to repair the flaked border. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You,
Don

The "chrome" is actually thin aluminum foil, hot stamped on when the parts were molded. You *might* get a satisfactory appearance by painting (on the backside) with a chrome like paint.
