Coating stainless steel watch to reduce shine

Hello, I have recently been given a highly valuable watch which has the potential to be my dream timepiece. Unfortunately it is too shiny for me and would love to know if there is any way to treat it and darken the color, to ideally a gun metal Finish. The watch material is described as Polished and fine-brushed stainless steel case
I would really appreciate any advise you can offer.

this on eBay or Amazon [affil links]

Hi, Luke.

There are many options and I would suggest discussing this with a shop which specializes in plating of jewelry. Simplest might be simply to glass bead blast the bezel to take it from a highly reflective look to a matte look.
