Pitting when plating brass with nickel
We are plating a brass part in a electrolytic nickel woods bath. The parts come out with a lot of pitting. We were told that the Woods bath was attacking the zinc within the brass and were told to use sulfamate nickel strike instead. Can someone explain to me why this would be a better solution?

Hi, Josh. The theoretical basis they were referring to is probably that sulfamate nickel is free of chlorides and would thus be less corrosive. However, why are you doing a Wood's strike anyway? I can't see it. Please describe the parts and the plating cycle.
