Color of Iridescent (yellow) Trivalent Chromate changes a week after plating
February 14, 2011
Hello,
I'm Natthida from Thailand. I have many problems to everybody -- help and suggest me.
Today I have problem about Trivalent Iridescent Chromate. That is, Color Change 7 - 15 days after plating (per picture attached).
I don't know the cause; I cross check for conditions and everything in Process is OK.
The part is cyanide zinc plated and passivated with trivalent yellow chromate, no top coat.
Please suggest me and I will be awaiting your information attentively.
Best Regards,

Hi,
Check for the rinses after plating & post passivations and drying method, secondly are you preserving the passivated components near your plating plant uncovered where there is a lot of acid fumes?
