Rust preventative treatment for CRCA capacitors

December 6, 2010

Dear friends,
This is Babu from Bangalore. Here we are using CRCA sheet metal for capacitor manufacturing. The major problem here is rusting. The process sequence is after fabrication of crca metal (required shape).

1. HCl Application -to remove oil presence
2. Tinning-(coating of zinc and lead) for soldering
3. Soldering
4. Welding
5. Leak testing by water
4. Oil filling
5. Etc.
Here rust is formed due to surroundings, HCl application, water and heat.

Please suggest what treatment is good to prevent rust and also follow the further process like tinning, soldering and welding...

Thanks
Babu

GM,
Why do you need HCl for Degreasing?. HCl cannot be used as a degreasing agent. If you have rust on the sheets along with oil, use Alkaline deruster which will have degreasing property too. Contact any chemical house in meeting the requirements.
All the best.
