Protecting aluminum against liquid de-icing agents
I am looking for surface treatment options on die cast aluminum parts for protection against liquid de-icing agents containing magnesium chloride. Also, are there any test methods for evaluating the surface treatment options?

Depending on the amount of chloride in the de-iceing solution I would recommend high phosphorous electroless nickel. Depending on the surface of the substrate 1 mil (25 Šµm) coating would be a good starting point.
