Electroless nickel plating of ceramic powders
I am, Mahesh Kumar, doing PhD on Composites fabricated by Powder Metallurgy route in Cardiff University, U.K.
To avoid the diffusion of atoms across the powder interface during processing, I am planning to coat the powders with Ni by electroless plating method.
This is to enquire whether it is possible to coat ceramic powders (particle size 3-5 microns) like SiC, TiC, Al2O3 with Ni by electroless method?

Mahesh, I am working on this same problem. I would like to use electroless nickel to coat ZrO2 (zirconia) round particles approximately 0.5 mm in diameter. It should be possible. I remember when I was a student some years ago I was putting electroless nickel coatings on epoxy and it worked well. Let's keep in touch and see if we can come up with something.

Dear Mr. Hehn,
Thank you for your reply.
I will try to coat the powders by following the procedure mentioned in literatures. I will intimate you the outcome of my experiments.

Years ago you could buy EN coated diamond particles. Research expired patents or find a company that is qualified and have them do it or buy their technology.
