Electroless nickel in contact with chromated Aluminum, beachside

When would it be OK to have electroless nickel plated steel in contact with Mil-dtl-5541 type 1 class 3 conversion coated F357 aluminum in a marine environment? Not submerged in seawater, but similar to being beachside. Does the conversion coat provide any protection against galvanic corrosion?

The chem-film coating is actually often used as a CONDUCTIVE coating because it is so thin it just doesn't offer much resistance. You would be much better off with an anodize or powder coat, or put something between the parts to prevent electrical contact.
