tartaric acid anodising controls

Q. Hi. Setting up anodising line for tartaric, and have been told I need a control and data logging system. Could anyone give help or guideline to this? Will be working to Airbus specs

A. Are you asked to log the temperature, or is it some other control parameter? Temperature logging is actually very straightforward. The old-fashioned way is to use a chart recorder with paper records. I prefer to select a digital temperature controller that has a retransmit signal (4-20 mA or 0-10 VDC). You can pair that with any process data logger to receive that signal. You can get loggers that either store the information in internal memory for manual periodic retrieval and upload to a PC or you can get loggers that wirelessly transmit the signals directly to a remote data collection PC. Good luck.

A. Hi Rod. "The Surface Treatment & Finishing of Aluminium and Its Alloys" covers everything related to the anodizing of aluminum, so it's the accepted source for all such info. But I think you need to put your inquiry into context because we don't know if you're interested in the formation process for electrolytic capacitors, or complying with an Airbus spec. for an alternate to chromic acid anodizing, or what. Thanks.
