Fatigue crack propagation in Stainless steel
I am Hadi from Mechanical Engineering Department. I am doing research on fatigue crack propagation among stainless steels. Regarding applying in high temperature and excellent welding and corrosion resistance it can be seen so many real application for this material from kitchen home devices to nuclear power plant reactor piping. as you know one definition of fatigue is related to surface phenomena. I am interested in knowing either SS304 or SS304 which one is appropriate for this study? maybe I need some view point from material scientist as I am trying to show the applicability in engineering view point. in short word, mechanical loading (random vibration) what will have influence on SS304 and SS304L.
