Need glass saccharometer




Q. Saccharometer which is used in zinc phosphating bath solution to determine the accelerator pointage. This item is very, very difficult to obtain! Even the laboratory glassware manufacturers or wholesalers don't know anything about it ?! They've got to be kidding !

A. Look for it under hydrometer [hydrometers on eBay or Amazon [affil links] . You can get them in various ranges of specific gravity, baumé and sugar levels.

thumbs up sign Thanks, Jim. Apparently there are two types of saccharometer (measurement devices for sugar content or solids content in general) -- • One is a hydrometer with markings for sugar content in lieu of, or in addition to, the markings for specific gravity.
• The other is a Brix refractometer which measures sugar content or solids content by the amount of light refraction. These can be further divided into visual refractometers and digital refractometers. Here is a quick video explaining visual refractometers:
