Cyanide copper plating onto electroless nickel

I need to get a coating of cyanide copper onto electroless nickel (the substrate is cast aluminum) we are getting blistering from the base material every time we try.

Hi, Ryan. If you are going to do cyanide copper plating anyway, is there a reason that you precede it with electroless nickel? Apparently the cyanide copper plating is a good test for adhesion of electroless nickel onto aluminum :-)

Are you double zincating? Are you using an alkaline electroless nickel strike?
