True weight of phos & oil on a part

Q. I have a part - small fastener - that weighs about 100 grams (coated) The coating is 15 g/m2. What is the effective weight of the coating? What is the proper math formula one employs to decipher this?

A. You have insufficient Data.
We need sufficient info to establish the surface area of the component.

A. Dear Jeff Wintle,
first calculate the area for the fastener, this you will get from drawing.(in pro-E, you are able to get the ex-cast surface area) convert the area in square meter.
EX:
Assume one fastener(with out plating or coating) is 0.1 Square meter and the weight is 100 gms, Total 10 of fasteners is 1000 gms with 1 Square meter. after the plating all 10 Number weight should be 1015.
For setting the base from initial define the Each part area then you will fix.
I think the above will help for your requirement.
