Acid cadmium is no longer available because of the environmental people restricting the use of cadmium to only a few critical areas, normally aircraft.
That means that you are going to have to use a cyanide strike and a cyanide plating solution.
The paperwork required by your state, local and federal compliance folks will make this a costly process to set up.

The OSHA and EPA (DEP) fines are very high for even a minor infraction!
With no or little plating experience, I predict that you will have significant problems. (Even if you hire a very good consultant)

Hi. I'm with Jim that cadmium plating isn't the right stuff anymore.

I know that auto restorers crave authenticity, but I think you'll need to switch to zinc or tin-zinc plating because, while there are still a few very exceptional reasons to do cadmium plating today, authenticity isn't enough to justify putting this bioaccumulative poison (similar to mercury and lead) onto parts today. Good luck with a replacement technology.
