Casting ancient Greek bronze
June 25, 2010
Hello,
I am planning to cast (not hammer) bronze armor consisting out of helmet and breastplates, imitating Ancient Greek bronze armor.
What I would need to know is what kind of bronze should be used to make it kind of dark liverish or dark grey-black color, and not yellowish golden by any means. I heard somewhere it should be high in tin content like bell metal around 20% tin.
And other thing is how thin bronze can be when casting? Can it be less than 5mm in thickness.
Thank you
