Ivan,
Hardness from electroless nickel deposits can be tested using a vickers hardness testing machine. All EN plating solutions comes with a TDS with their specified hardness. Example, the common lead
/cadmium free Mid P Electroless Nickel plating solution has a hardness ( as plated ) of about 500 HV ( 100 gms ). The 100 gms is the load of the indenter. If heat treated to 400 deg C ( 1 hr ) hardness can increase to 950 HV ( 100 gms ).Therefore, base on these info, what is the hardness requirement for your 'soft electroless nickel '?
