Babbitt plating on aluminium alloy

Sorry if we've a very simple question for you. Essentially we want to get advice how to do things Babbitt plating (aluminum alloy) well. So far, the results we obtained are always spotty, although we do feel the process is in conformity with the theory of Canning book. Thank You

Babbitt is an alloy and plating an alloy is far more difficult than a plain single metal, to get a consistent ratio of the metals.

Your problem sounds more like gas bubbles collecting and preventing further plating. Racking is another possibility, as it agitation and temperature control.
Last, are you positive that you have properly cleaned and activated the entire part prior to plating it.
You may need a strike. Are you using one?
