Salt water dip test for rusting
Q. I need to test for box pin rusting, How can I validate this with respect to any standard like ISO, ATMS, MIL, etc
Please give your input for validation method (like Salt water dip test, salt powder, etc.) with respect to standard.

A. Hi, Purushothaman. The single most common way to test is probably
ASTM B117 salt spray testing. But if you have no salt fog test equipment, the easiest and least expensive standardized test to implement may be the CAMRI test described in www.zinc-diecasting.info/zdc-PDF/SurfaceFinishes.pdf ⇩
