Protection of Copper Wire from Tarnishing

2000

I hope you can help to solve my problem or direct me to source that can. We are manufacturing uninsulated copper flexible braided wire using ETP grade of copper in fine gauges. We are facing problem of oxidation/tarnishing of copper. Some times, our final products getting blackened due to oxidation or tarnishing after a period of 1-2 months when keeping in stock.

Pls also inform us its applying method as our product is having air gap and at which stage it can be used (process- like pickling, wire drawing, annealing, packing, storage etc.) to prevent tarnishing or oxidation of copper and also to enhance brightness of copper.

I would recommend a triazole based inhibitor for the indoor storage of the copper wires. This is applied in an immersion tank to ensure even and complete coverage.
