Etched ss after electropolishing

We have a situation where our part which consists of a frame with 6 cross bars tig welded inside turned out after electropolish with the frame cleaned up and shiny and the cross bars that are dull and look etched. Both are from 304ss .250 dia. The only difference is material is from 2 different lots (both w/in spec). Has anyone seen this before? Do you know what causes it?

Obviously is a material problem.so different lots are made from different concentration of the alloy
Try to work with the same lot because changing the polish will be harder

Try to attach connector to that affected area, it may help.
