Best Aluminum Choice for Long Lasting Anodization?

February 23, 2010

We are currently using a 3003-H14 grade aluminum in our production line. It is a 14 step high stress automatic stamping line. We initially went with 3003 to suit this stamping requirement. However, we are going from this into anodization.

Final product is anodized and in an abusive environment. We've had complaints of too much wear and tear on the product. Is there another grade of aluminum that would allow for high stress stamping while giving a better, longer lasting anodized finish?

Thanks!

Stephen

Can you clarify 'abusive environment', and what type of anodize is currently used?
