Rules for Plating in Mexico

The company I work for has a sister company in Aguascalientes Mexico. They are possibly looking at zinc and nickel chrome plating their own parts in house. I was wondering what the regulations are there for waste water treatment? Also would we need to put some type of filter system on the in coming water? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

US regulations are tougher than Mexico's. The most common practice in companies having operations in US & Mexico regarding these regulations is to comply with US. There are consultants that may help with tramits and permits with Mexico's agencies like PROFEPA, SEMARNAT.
Regarding incoming water, is preferable to treat your water at least with an RO system before putting it into your process.

I agree with the previous post. Recommended is that you advice in advance the responsible authorities as well as the department of the city of "Medio Ambiente" and "Proteccion Civil" in workers safety rules. Incoming tap water MUST be run trough a filtering system due of quite a lot of contaminants (organic and inorganic).
