Life of zinc phosphating on SECC material if not painted
I would like to know that life of Zn phosphating on SECC (steel zinc electrogalvanised cold roll coil) material, if it is kept as it is. Can it stand as final process on materials like this. Can you suggest any process which will give better corrosion resistance.

Hi, Ashish. Zinc phosphate is not intended to be a final finish, so projections of its life as a final finish would be "iffy" and depend on brand of chemicals, exact deposition parameters, etc. But oiling it would increase the corrosion resistance if you can't paint it, and hot dipped galvanizing would greatly outlast the zinc electroplating that you currently are using. Good luck.
