Suggested plating application spec for saltwater fishing trolling lure
Our firm produces a high-end line of fishing lures. Is there a specific application used to finish brass saltwater fishing lures to maximize the life of the "chrome" finish and minimize any signs of corrosion? I assume galvanic action also occurs as the lure is pulled through saltwater on a sometimes stainless steel, copper, or "Monel" wire leader. Is there a MIL spec that best applies and/or any testing I can require on products to assure compliance. Nothing worse than a customer coming back with a used, dull, or flaking lure head that looked awesome when it was made.
