Is there any high-heat-resistant metal plating formula out there?
I would appreciate the help anyone would give me. I need to find a way to prevent corrosion for these carbon steel parts that will be put into a high heat kiln. Is there nickel, cobalt or chrome plating solutions out there that would provide effective corrosion resistance and have a long life to them, meaning I don't have to replate every now and then?
sincerely, and thanks for the help!

Hi, Anthony. You can have those steel components sulfamate nickel plated, or even Watts nickel plated, and they will have good heat resistance. But you didn't mention what kind of kiln and what temperature. Good luck.

thank you very much Ted Mooney,
I will be using a skutt electric kiln and temperatures should be approaching around the range of 900 °C, perhaps up to 1200 °C also. What do you think?
sincerely, and thanks

Anthony,
For those temperatures, no there isn't any plating that will protect mild steel. You need to have the parts made from a heat-resistant steel (that is, a high alloy steel that resists scaling at high temperatures). For ceramic work, you don't have to worry about chemically aggressive atmospheres.
