What grade of stainless for meat cooker using calcium chloride

HI I work for a food ingredients company in South Africa

We are currently in the process of building a new type of cooker(85 C)/chiller(-5C) for the meat industry. We are having a problem with the material though as we require 1.5% Calcium Chloride in the water to make our product work.

Obviously we are having some corrosion problems with standard 316 and lower grades.

We are now testing 904L (UNS 080904, DIN 1.4539) Very Expensive, As well as SAF 2205 (UNS S31803 Din 1.4462)

Is there any other materials we should consider, also is there any preventative steps we should take on such units.

Thanks in advance

Q. Will stainless steel corrode with a 10-15% aqueous calcium chloride solution the pH would be around 3-4.

A. Hi, Sud.

Almost all stainless steels will be seriously attacked -- certainly all the common grades will be. Plastic lined construction might be more practical, but you haven't given us any clues yet about what you want to make :-)

Please let us know because abstract questions can rarely be answered satisfactorily. Thanks.
