Automotive "neo-chrome" finish -- What is it?
Hello all,
There seems to be a new craze in the automotive import tuner community, and that is "neo-chrome" chrome finish. I believe the name to be misleading, because I have seen the finish on many aluminum pieces.
It was very popular with lugnuts and now I am seeing it on wheel lips and even entire aluminum intake manifolds.
I work at a performance shop in Chicago, and I feel that this is something that my customers would enjoy having. I understand this process may be new and proprietary, but I cannot even find a contact of who does the service.
Any advice as to what the finish actually is and who does would be greatly appreciated. It is a beautiful finish and I think many people would love to use it as a decorative option.
Thanks!

Hi, Matt. I read in a forum that it was sputtered titanium followed by anodizing, and that's what I would have guessed from the look of it. That's not a for-sure, of course.
