Silver plating on titanium based alloys

Is it possible to carry out silver plating on Titanium based alloys?
If yes, then how?

Hi, Sudhir. It is very difficult to electroplate onto titanium. I suspect that you will need to start with diffused nickel plating. If you search the site for "diffused nickel titanium", you should be off to a good start. Good luck.

First of two simultaneous responses --

One of the plating magazines had a long article by a plater from Boeing. I do not remember that much of it, but it had several cleaning steps and then a nickel strike followed by EN.
You might check with Pratt and Whitney as they have a method that works well in their standard practices.

Second of two simultaneous responses --

It should be possible to coat by sputtering. However one has to pay attention to details such as holes, etc.

Hi,
Plating on titanium based material is not so difficult. I have presented a lot of articles here about it.
