NEED HELP ON HOW TO MAKE A TIN CEILING LOOK AGED!

I am looking to make a natural tin ceiling look aged for an old tavern look. The unfinished tin pieces I have are too shiny and new and the pre aged pricing was far too high. I want a worn type of patina look to it (about 800 square feet) and need to know how to do that. Please help!

TRy internet archive website(www.archive.org)-there you can find old but useful(and download free) book on metal colouring (Arthur Hiorns:Metal Colouring).Hope it helps and good luck!

Well, if you are just trying to tone the color down you can always go and get a spray gun, mix up a clear coat top and tone it down with brown and black. Apply lightly and experiment with the results. I am suggesting this as all the other tricks I know are for smaller things that are going to be observed closely.

Since you have some distance between the viewers and your ceiling you can fudge this and do paint.
