Is a part plated in an acidic, gold cyanide tank toxic.

Our company is venturing into plating braces (the kind for your teeth) and I'm not sure if the resulting braces will be toxic. We obviously rinse them well after plating but I'm very concerned. Your response(s) will be very much appreciated (especially by the final consumer).

I would prefer pure gold or a good gold alloy, but if they will accept plate, have at it. The gold is no problem. Solution that is on the surface or worse, trapped is a problem. Rinse with DI water, neutralize with a weak base and rinse at least twice more, preferably with a warm ultrasonic rinse followed by a final rinse.
