Choosing mesh of glass beads for blasting

August 24, 2009

Hi I am buying a pressure blaster and I have to use glass beads for matte-ing the surfaces of my part made of Stainless steel . Please help me about mesh of the glass beads. I think 120-200 mesh is good.

Your question is kind of vague. Technically speaking the smaller to mesh size, the finer the surface finish. If you intend to plate or coat the part after blasting, the finer finish may not be th best. Also, selection is a trade off of needs vs costs.
