SST Extra corrosion protection

I have a stainless steel part. It is made of a combination of sst material 316, 304 and 303. It is used in a vat of liquid food products. Not quite sure what liquid will be used. The part has been welded and passivated. What kind of plating would be used to better protect the piece from corrosion?

Hi, Neal. I could be wrong, but I believe that you are not free to do such things in many food processing applications. I would start by researching the reguirements for your application.

Dear Neal,

Electropolishing will increase the corrosion resistance of your construction significantly.
I agree with Ted that your are making a strange material combination here. The SS 303 has a much lower corrosion resistance than 304 and 316. Personally I should never use SS 303 in contact with foodstuff.
